Island time for Team CSC/Marcello
Team CSC/Marcello’s Travys Wilkins and Gilbert Quevauvilliers are heading for Reunion Island where they will compete, along with CSC/Marcello guest rider Sean Merredew, in the six day Tour of the West.
The five stage tour, which takes place from Wednesday July 11 to July 15, has attracted more than 20 teams from Reunion, Mauritius and the Seychelles.
According to CSC/Marcello’s Gilbert Quevauvilliers, “We are confident of doing well as we are well-suited to the climbs in this mountainous terrain. The challenges for us will however be the hilltop finishes which tend to be at more than 1000m above sea level.”
Gilbert finished in 11th position in the Tour of the West in Reunion last year.
The team will be managed by Gilles Quevauvilliers.
