COBOL Software Engineer
Primary Role
COBOL Software Engineer (Developer) will work in projects of the Delivery Service team as assigned and is responsible for the design, development, implementation, unit testing and testing of software applications, and communication with local project team in English.
Working Relationships
- Reports to Project Manager or assigned coach
- Works in collaboration with other project team members
- Works in collaboration with onsite team members
Professional Responsibilities
- Can be assigned to role to developer, designer, tester, leader
- Analysis and understand the functional requirements and propose the solutions for implementation
- Write design/implementation documentation
- Review code
- Aid in creating prototype/test applications
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules
- Participate in design/code reviews
- Coding, implementing, maintain, unit testing, testing, and troubleshoot software
- Work with members of project teams to make certain specifications
- Consult or seek helps from senior members, know how to approach things
- Adhere to strict defined quality metrics
- Able to research, self-study, innovate to produce high productivity
- Scan the market for new tools/technology and evaluate them
- Pilot new tools/technology
- Communicate well (writing, verbally) with team members
Professional Requirements
- At least 01 year hand on experience in COBOL programming for z/OS system, TSO, XML/WSDL and Web services are preferred.
- Good at IT background knowledge of software development process, COBOL and Mainframe knowledge is required.
- Good at communication skills in both English and Vietnamese are required.
- Good at skills of analysis, documentation, solving problems and design, implementation process is preferred.
- Professional working attitude, discipline, team and process oriented are preferred.
- Know where/when/how to questions to approach things quickly is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and under high pressure are preferred.

- B.S Degree is required
