NHS names CSC amongst suppliers for £1.25bn IT framework
News Release -- February 20, 2015
CSC has been named as one of the suppliers on an NHS clinical information systems procurement framework established by NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS). The Framework which has a value of £1.25bn has listed 26 suppliers including HP, CSC, Atos, Northgate Information Systems, CGI and Civica.
This initiative which was announced in August 2014 went live this week and is divided into several lots. CSC have been successful in all five lots we submitted: theatre clinical systems; integrated emergency care clinical systems; maternity systems; and specialist electronic prescribing clinical systems.
It will run for at least four years and help save NHS time and money by avoiding otherwise more traditional tendering mechanisms when buying healthcare information systems. In turn, suppliers will benefit from streamlined procurements and reduced costs incurred in submitting individual tenders.
Philippe Houssiau VP Healthcare UKI said ”CSC is delighted to be involved in this framework which demonstrates a more strategic approach to procurement allowing the NHS to create efficiencies which can in turn be reinvested back into patient care.”
