CSC celebrates legends of the amateur rugby era...

CSC is the proud sponsor of the 2009 All Party Parliamentary Rugby Awards, which this year honoured the legends of the amateur era with a spectacular black tie award ceremony held at the House of Commons. The evening was attended by former international players, members of the All Party Group and champions of industry. The awards represent a true celebration of sporting legends that have inspired, entertained and always led from the front. They have done so with passion, purposeful grace, and often with ingenious execution. The five winners, representing each competing nation of the amateur era, were announced during the ceremony hosted by the BBC's John Inverdale, and were presented with a legends' jacket, designed and created by Dress2kill, London’s premier bespoke tailors.

And the winners were;
• England – David Duckham, wing – 36 caps for England from 1969 – 1976, ten tries and three Lions caps in 1971

• Ireland – Willie John McBride, lock – 63 caps for Ireland from 1962 to 1975, one try, and 17 Lions caps from 1962 to 1974, one try

• Scotland – Andy Irvine, full back – 51 caps for Scotland from 1972 to 1982, ten tries, and nine Lions caps from 1974 to 1980, two tries

• Wales – Gareth Edwards, scrum half – 53 caps for Wales from 1967 to 1978, twenty tries, and ten Lions caps from 1968 to 1974

• France – Jean-Pierre Rives, flanker – 59 caps for France from 1975 to 1984, five tries
