On land, CSC helped the state of Maryland develop one of the United States’ first intelligent transportation systems (ITS). ITS will become more important as a tool as the need to reduce drivers’ gasoline costs and greenhouse gas emissions increases.

CSC also helps European rail systems operate more efficiently. Efficiency translates to more people and cargo moved at a lower operating cost with less energy needed and fewer greenhouse gases emitted.

In the skies, CSC’s work on air traffic control systems has helped to eliminate peaks and valleys in traffic flow and increase capacity and efficiency at airports. It also saves fuel by reducing departure delays.
