In the Amgen Tour of California application, CSC is demonstrating a wireless GPS object field tracking with dynamic mapping display. This application will use GPS tracking technology to provide cycling fans with a Google Maps view of select race leaders and vehicles at the link below. Using GPS and general packet radio service (GPRS) technology, the tracking solution will offer a near real-time "bird's eye" view of multiple objects moving at speed and in close proximity along with information detail previously available only at ground level. CSC is supplying the data, which will allow the entire field to be seen visibly moving over the race course. Tagged riders will carry 90-gram GPS trackers communicating over the T-Mobile GSM network. The application may also be viewed in Google Earth for greater perspective on the environment. CSC is also supplying tracking data to AEG World for a data-rich, multimedia display from Yahoo and Adobe at www.amgentourofcalifornia.com.
