EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 16 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that three new clients have joined the more than 450 organizations that have chosen RISKMASTER, CSC’s independent claims and risk information management system. Acordia Northwest, PIC Wisconsin and Wawa have selected RISKMASTER to reduce their risk management costs, gain better control of their underwriting risks and process claims more efficiently.
Acordia Northwest, headquartered in Seattle, Wash., is a division of Acordia Inc., the largest bank-affiliated insurance brokerage firm in the U.S. PIC Wisconsin, one of the leading U.S. providers of medical professional liability insurance, writes policies in Wisconsin and seven other states. Pennsylvania-based retailer Wawa operates a chain of more than 540 convenience stores in five states.
“RISKMASTER has already proven a success at one of our sister companies,” said Barb Devere, Acordia Northwest vice president of Administration. “We ultimately chose CSC’s software over two other products to assist our Resort and Recreation Division’s claims unit in providing risk and claims management services.”
CSC designed RISKMASTER for self-insured corporations, third-party administrators, healthcare companies and public entities. By automating the claims processing environment, from risk management and claims administration to policy processing and litigation management, RISKMASTER gives both managers and front-line users accurate, up-to-date business and market data.
“This year, 18 new clients chose RISKMASTER,” said Ray August, president of the Property and Casualty Insurance Division of CSC's Financial Services Group. “The system, which is based on 20 years of experience in the self-insured market, is helping organizations in industries as varied as aerospace, energy, government, greeting card manufacturing, healthcare and retail achieve real business results.”
CSC’s RISKMASTER offers an integrated event-to-claims-management process, allowing companies to manage the life of a claim from first notice of an event to final settlement. The system manages a wide variety of critical claims data including: property, casualty, general liability, workers' compensation, automotive liability, first reports of injury, 800-number reporting, accidents, incidents, professional liability, policies, actuarial reporting and integrated disability management.
RISKMASTER’s Business Intelligence component uses Business Objects’ Web Intelligence to consolidate data from diverse sources and mine it for enhanced real-time and scheduled reporting. Additional RISKMASTER components help organizations manage outside legal counsel, comply with the U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and perform fraud and fault evaluations to streamline core business processes.
