The Dallas Independent School District (DISD), one of the country’s largest, needed to replace an out-of-date claims system that was no longer supported by its vendor. DISD risk manager, Cheryl Johnson, had heard about RISKMASTER many years before. “CSC offered a special pricing opportunity that put the system within our reach,” she said. “We knew RISKMASTER’s reputation. We knew that it was groundbreaking and innovative, and we were happy to be able to license the system. We’ve been very, very happy with it ever since.”

Automating and Streamlining Processes
The district experienced immediate productivity gains with the new system when manual tasks such as writing and mailing notices to claimants were automated by RISKMASTER’s mail-merge capability.

CSC then worked with DISD to implement a Web-based form for capturing first reports of injury from its many locations. The information from those reports helps to target safety training where it’s needed most.

The new system also interfaces with the district’s accounting system, allowing risk and claims personnel to upload payments and generate checks through the accounts payable office.

The support has been tremendous. When we have a problem, we call them. There’s always somebody to talk to and they seem to be very understanding and quick to resolve any problems that might occur.”
