XPRESS (Accelerated Package Review, Evaluation and Selection Service) was developed in response to several factors:
Clients wanted a shorter, more cost effective process.
Many client requirements tended to be “vanilla” in nature or common across a given industry.
Only a subset of client requirements were directly related to a company’s critical success factors and truly represented “discriminators”.
Our experience that “discriminators” could be successfully used to differentiate one package from another during an evaluation and selection process.
With XPRESS, client management is focused on the identification of “discriminators” rather than the creation of detailed requirements and an extensive checklist of desired package features and functions. Use of a selection tool removes the need for a time consuming RFP process and helps to quickly identify a vendor shortlist. The XPRESS approach ensures that vendor demonstrations address the client’s business needs instead of merely showcasing selective portions of their package.

Selection Tool CSC is a Gartner Gold Decision Drivers Alliance Member. As such, CSC clients are able to benefit from the use of Gartner’s Decision Engine selection tool at a discounted price.
The Decision Engine selection tool helps clients make better, faster, more cost-effective decisions. It provides its users the following:
Key criteria, weighted according to their relative importance (this weighting may be adjusted based on a client’s specific needs)
Objective data rating the vendors and products on the criteria
The capability to perform "what-if" analysis on the decision
Access to the collective wisdom of other professionals and organizations who have already made their selection
An aide to reduce political conflicts and facilitate management buy-in for the final decision
Data for the Decision Engine selection tool is gathered from three distinct sources. First and foremost it comes from actual users whose collective wisdom and experience is used to accurately determine the real-world capabilities of products. Secondly, information is provided by vendor responses to a Gartner RFI. The third source is the findings of Gartner Group and other research firm analysts. All three sources are drawn together and triangulated in order to provide a comprehensive, objective and validated representation of the market and the products therein.
