With the introduction of SAP ERP 6.0, SAP announced that it would phase out support for older versions of SAP in the following schedule:
- R/3 4.6c mainstream by 12/31/2006 and extended until 12/31/2009
- R/3 4.7x mainstream by 03/31/2009 and extended until 12/31/2012
- ERP 5.0 mainstream by 03/31/2010 and extended until 12/31/2013
