CSC Mobile Insurance Application Receives Acord Award
News Release -- August 31, 2010
Recently Released First Notice of Loss Feature Named Most Compelling Case Study
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug. 31 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced that one of its mobile insurance applications was named a “Most Compelling Case Study” by ACORD, a nonprofit insurance standards organization, at the 2010 ACORD Awards held during the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum in Las Vegas. The award acknowledges CSC’s “first notice of loss” claims mobile application, which is now generally available, uses current ACORD Standard Messaging and demonstrates, through a case study, the significant impact ACORD standards can contribute to the enterprise.
In addition, CSC received a “Property and Casualty/Surety Most Actively Involved with ACORD” award and CSC employee Randy Molnar was one of the first to receive an ACORD Certified Expert designation for Property and Casualty/Surety.
CSC’s mobile insurance applications are prepackaged, reusable mobile applications and development frameworks that reduce time, cost and risk to extend an insurance company’s presence to all mobile devices. They encompass both browser functions and unique smartphone features that improve the users’ experience with the carrier. CSC’s library of insurance industry-specific mobile applications, which includes applications for property and casualty (P&C) and life insurance and annuities, is enriched by a long-term program of continuous innovation in close partnership with a community of leading insurers and providers of mobile devices and services. CSC’s mobile insurance solutions now support mobile browser use for P&C insurance, life insurance and annuity applications, enabling carriers to offer their agents and consumers access to basic policy information, submit a claim and manage various funds in their portfolios.
“We commend CSC for continuing its long history of innovation and incorporation of standards into its insurance products,” said Lloyd Chumbley, vice president, Standards, ACORD. “CSC continues to show the industry how essential ACORD data standard implementations are for improving communication and integration.”
“As we develop new mobile applications for the insurance industry, we are designing to well-respected industry standards,” said Ray August, president of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “This innovative use of ACORD standards to support transactions from mobile phones demonstrates CSC’s continued commitment to enabling enriched interactions between carriers, their partners and customers that integrate easily with back-office systems.”
