CSC NAMES MICHAEL A. KIRBY VICE PRESIDENT OF ARMY/LAND DIVISION


FALLS CHURCH, Va., June 16 -- CSC (NYSE: CSC) has named Michael A. Kirby vice president and general manager of the Army/Land division for its North American Public Sector (NPS) Defense Group. Reporting to Austin Yerks, president of CSC's Defense Group, Kirby will have oversight and client management responsibility for CSC's Army account.

In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the CSC operations that support the Army's land programs. The Army/Land division provides expertise in knowledge management; logistics deployment and distribution; command, control and communications; information technology infrastructure and identity management. Kirby will also have client responsibility for the entire Army account, including contracts and task orders across CSC.

"Mike has had a distinguished Army career and a proven legacy of successful program management, and we are honored to have him as a member of our executive leadership team," said Yerks. "His practical experience with implementing business transformation initiatives and applying business management methodologies are an asset for CSC and our Army clients."

Kirby joins CSC from BearingPoint, where he was responsible for creating a comprehensive change management solution across the federal government. From 2005 to 2008, he served as Deputy Under Secretary of the Army for Business Transformation (DUSA - BT). In this role, he was responsible for implementing the U.S. Army's business transformation initiatives, which included continuous process improvement, business situational awareness, organizational analysis and design, and professional development. Additionally, Kirby directed the Army's largest deployment of Lean Six Sigma ever undertaken.

During his service in the Army, Kirby was a combat arms officer and commanded a tank battalion during the first Persian Gulf conflict. His assignments included tours in the Office of the Army Chief of Staff as well as the Joint Staff. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Science in national security strategy from the National War College and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
