Person-Centric Processing
See all relevant enterprise data about an individual, presented in a single view.
Most automated border and immigration systems evolved from paper-based environments. Accordingly, they are organized by application, with minimal ability to tie transactions together. As a result, important information about an individual may get buried in disparate systems with no way to create a unified picture of how that person interacted with the enterprise as a whole.
A person-centric processing environment allows an individual officer to aggregate all relevant enterprise data about an individual and present it in a singular view. Staff can then base decisions on a holistic understanding of the person, assembled in real time from comprehensive data about identity, eligibility, status, risk and the history of the individual’s interaction with the organization. This allows frontline officials to make more informed, fact-based adjudications and decisions about entry, immigration benefits and enforcement actions.
At CSC, we believe that an effective infrastructure-oriented approach to managing person-centric information should also benefit the individual. It should make it easier and more convenient for people to engage with the enterprise, while enhancing privacy. Our approach allows each individual to provide information once instead of multiple times; review his or her information; confirm or dispute the accuracy of the records; and, with a few law enforcement-related exceptions, actively participate in the sharing of that information with other agencies.
The benefits of person-centric processing for border and immigration include:
- Consistent and timely decision making
- Elimination of redundant efforts
- Better accuracy and efficiency
- Lower costs and increased productivity
