Government Cloud Computing Successes
Move to the Cloud with Confidence
We have the experience to ensure that your entry into cloud computing will be a success.
CSC has supported government cloud efforts for more than 3 years. Our successes include:
- General Services Administration (GSA). CSC will compete for task orders to provide offerings around email as a service (EaaS) within government community, private, secret enclave and public clouds. These offerings include EaaS (billed per mailbox), office automation, electronic records management, migration and integration services, with security requirements at the FISMA moderate-impact level (and FISMA high-impact level for the secret enclave delivery model).
- Federal Aviation Administration. CSC is implementing a cloud SaaS solution for FAA’s Enterprise Messaging System. CSC will migrate 80,000 users spread across multiple email systems to Microsoft Office 365.
- Large Federal Department and Its Related Agencies. CSC is helping the department save money through an innovative private cloud solution that is reducing the agency’s development time while increasing scalability. CSC’s Development/Test as a Service (DTaaS) is one of the first federal enterprise-class clouds deployed in a client’s data center to meet new standards.
- Midsize Federal Civil Agency. CSC worked with the agency to implement a transformation solution on Google's PaaS platform that services approximately 800,000 to 1,000,000 searches per month. A future deployment will increase this number to approximately 1,500,000 searches per month.
- State of California. Currently, CSC has successfully migrated more than 16,000 email boxes to Microsoft 365 Dedicated. The migration for the remaining departments is on schedule to be completed in 2013. When the implementation is complete, 70 departments and 100,000 state email boxes will have migrated, making this one of the largest cloud email systems in government today.
- City of Los Angeles. A total of 17,000 City of Los Angeles employees have been successfully migrated to Google Apps for Government for a new email and collaboration system. To date, Los Angeles taxpayers have saved more than $2 million, and the city expects to save millions more in the future.
We are also working with several other agencies on cloud assessment plans and cloud activity, including BizCloud for Government.
