Sharing Environmental Data Has Never Been Easier
The Next Generation Node (NGN) is a powerful tool that lets environmental agencies easily exchange data with the EPA and each other via the National Environmental Information Exchange Network. Built entirely on open source software, NGN is a single resource that streamlines the gathering, sharing and publishing of environmental data.
NGN is the ideal data exchange portal for all Enterprise Network users, including states, tribes, regional agencies, and EPA program offices. Leveraging five years of EPA node and dataflow experience, NGN features:
- Simultaneous support for both Exchange Network Node Specification version 1.1 and version 2.0
- A easy-to-use Web administration portal that offers robust tools for auditing, transaction monitoring, usage statistics collection, system configuration, task scheduling, error handing and more
- A pluggable framework for defining and publishing new data flows—with no coding required
- Dynamic publishing capabilities that help you efficiently collect, store and transform data across multiple sources
- Support for a wide range of computing environments and multiple platforms
NGN can be downloaded for free by EPA Exchange Network partners. Documentation—including installation, data flow setup and publishing guides—is online. Complete support is also available through CSC.
