EPA Mission Support

Applying Ingenuity and Technology to Environmental Challenges

sprouts in test tubesCSC has been helping the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) apply ingenuity and technology to meet challenges of national and global importance for more than 30 years. We are committed to delivering innovative solutions to the EPA in support of its mission to protect human health and the environment. CSC has helped EPA meet an ongoing array of new challenges such as —

  • Designing and managing cradle-to-grave support for monitoring data collection and use
  • Enhancing the agency’s emergency management capabilities
  • Developing innovative, Web-based training for laboratories supporting EPA programs.

We understand the business of the EPA. Our experience—which spans the agency and includes science and engineering, regulatory programs, and information technology—gives us a unique, enterprise-wide perspective that is vital to delivering comprehensive solutions that meet mission-critical needs. We provide broad-based support to the EPA’s drinking water, wastewater, Superfund, Brownfields, and research programs, including regulatory support, training and outreach, laboratory program management, and environmental data assessment (PDF, 386KB). We leverage this expertise—along with innovative tools and technologies and proven best practices—to deliver collaborative solutions that increase efficiency, improve accuracy and support environmental decision making.

After the attacks on 9/11, the EPA tasked CSC to support water infrastructure security and environmental recovery initiatives. We have developed a pilot water contamination warning system, all-hazards mutual assistance networks, and protocols and tools to enhance preparedness and response capabilities for natural disasters and intentional incidents involving chemical and biological agents, radiochemical, toxins, and traditional contaminants.
