Fault Evaluator
Conduct detailed investigations with an easy-to-use adjuster tool.
Why a Fault Assessment Tool?
Inaccurate liability assessments by adjusters is one of the many challenges facing the P&C insurance industry. Insureds are typically found to be 0 percent at fault or 100 percent at fault by claims adjusters. Many claims professionals do not have the time to complete an evaluation of claims appropriately for liability of the insured and the claimant. The adjusters are continually faced with heavy workloads and challenged to close claims as quickly as possible. Completing a thorough assessment may slow their process. Inexperienced adjusters often lack the experience or training to do a proper assessment, so the issue continues to simmer on the back burner within insurance companies.
Our Approach
Fault Evaluator® provides the adjuster an expert system tool that is easy to use, offering consistency within a detailed investigative approach. The solution fits very well in a company's existing claims process and addresses the seasoned — as well as the inexperienced — adjuster. Fault Evaluator is tunable to incorporate a company's unique claims adjudication practices. The system addresses bodily injury and property damage accidents involving two private passenger autos or light trucks in all 50 states. A detailed investigation will be completed by answering a series of questions pertinent to that accident type. A recommended range of fault assessment for the insured and claimant will be presented on a consultation report. Fault Evaluator provides access to Westlaw, a legal resource, to identify the negligence statutes and rules of the road for the accident state.
Benefits
This tool enforces a best practices approach by offering a consistent detailed investigation for all adjusters, whether they are experienced or not. Its ease of use interface steps you through the system by utilizing a series of tab folders. The consultation report builds confidence in the adjuster's negotiations by providing the detailed facts of the accident along with "talking points" of the accident in a few pages — no more paper shuffling in the files during negotiations. The reporting feature will provide management detailed information about the adjuster's settlements in an easy to read fashion, readily flagging areas they need to review and address with the adjusters, helping to improve the adjuster's performance. Management can also measure performance by branch, regional and national levels as well.
