He started out in the Management Trainee Program in 2007. Since then he has sharpened his skills and broadened his horizons. Recently appointed Account General Manager within Financial Services in CSC Norway, Cato Sæle has made the career equivalent of a base jump.
Why did you choose to work for CSC?
I chose CSC as I was offered the opportunity to get to know different sides of an IT organization in a short time frame. For me it was important to get varied assignments while climbing this very steep mountain that is the multinational CSC organization.
What do you work with on a daily basis?
As an Account General Manager I am responsible for the relationships that CSC has with a set of customers in the insurance vertical and the satisfaction of these customers. It is my job to ensure they are exposed to the full range of CSC’s offering portfolio and services. At the same time we should be a partner and advisor in the domain of each customer so the job involves a lot of client interaction.
How has your journey within CSC developed?
I first joined CSC as a Management Trainee within the infrastructure side of the business, shortly after I completed my Master’s degree in Business. My assignments during the first two years included working with finance, transformation projects and project management. From here I became Delivery Executive for clients in the insurance sector, being accountable for the delivery of baseline services and solutions to the client. In my experience with CSC you can get truly challenging work and the possibility to develop, providing you are willing to take the challenges that come your way. We operate in a dynamic and competitive marketplace so the challenges are many and multifaceted. You are definitely trusted with high levels of responsibility which means you get to use the full breadth of your experience and both theoretical and practical skills.
How do you foresee your future in CSC?
These are very exciting times to work in CSC and 3-5 years down the road I hope to have developed enough experience and, most importantly, significant industry knowledge to move into a more senior management role, helping our company achieve further growth. There are lots of talented people in the organization so hard work, self-development and dedication will be necessary to get ahead.
