CSC + US Military = Cybersecurity
As early as the 1950s, CSC was playing an important role in ensuring people’s safety by developing computer systems for the US military and government agencies during the Cold war. Finn Rasmussen, Nordic Director of Infrastructure Services Sales, explains how CSC now draws on this unique legacy of security expertise to beat the hackers.
Cybersecurity is becoming the biggest single problem for companies, organizations and governments.
What are the greatest challenges?
"Today almost everyone has digital access, and companies and organizations are increasingly struggling to protect their systems from harm. They're investing huge sums to prevent enormous losses. Our challenges in this field consist of not only the purely technical challenges – creating the solutions – but also carrying out assessments when clients have a security problem. The services we offer range from assessing clients' IT security and advising on improvements to providing security solutions and services, to both prevent damage to and restore clients' IT services. The field of IT security is constantly changing, but we can give our clients end-to-end help."
And what puts CSC ahead of the game?
"Mainly our way of projecting our history into the future. Ever since it started, back in 1959, CSC has worked with the US military on cybersecurity and information protection. We want to exploit our collaboration and joint forces on different fields in the market. For example, our global head of Cybersecurity advises President Obama on IT security, and one of our security experts is a former CIO of the FBI."
