Trainee Program

The CSC Trainee Program is all about finding the great innovators of the future. If you have the ambition to grow into a future leading role within one of the world’s largest IT solution providers, this program will be your first step.
The program offers three different profiles. You apply to the business unit that suits your personal aspirations, competences and ambitions:
Mainframe
You're interested in and understand the Mainframe platform, and you know about z/OS, IMS, CICS and/or DB2. Familiarity with programming (e.g. in Rexx or Assembler) is an advantage but not a requirement. You'll have access to sensitive client information, so you must be confident you'll pass a security vetting by the Danish Security and Intelligence Service. As a person you're energetic, have a good sense of humor, and enjoy working with others.
ESM (Infrastructure)
You're interested in high-level processes. We're looking for three different profiles for people working in the CSC Infrastructure department:
In Operation Service Management (OSM) you'll work on service improvement and Process Management. You must be a strong analyst and a dedicated “people person”. Excellent communication skills are essential because you'll be translating users' needs and applying them to the process load. You must work well with others and not be afraid of taking the initiative, because your job is to ensure process flows are reviewed and implemented
In Tools and Automation (T&A) you'll be maintaining and configuring Midrange (Windows, Linux and Unix servers) monitoring tools, end-to-end monitoring tools, etc., and service management tools throughout the chain from patching and monitoring to maintenance configuration. Experience of the Midrange Platform is preferred. A knowledge of monitoring tools and processes in general is an advantage but not a requirement. As a person, you're a team player with a good sense of humor and an analytical profile
In Production Control & Scheduling (PC&S) you'll implement and handle/troubleshoot Batch Scheduling on all platforms (mainly mainframe). A knowledge of OPC/TWS or other scheduling tools and/or knowledge of JCL scripting is an advantage but not a requirement. As a person, you're a team player with a good sense of humor and an analytical profile.
Java Architects
You have a strong interest in complex IT application solutions and have perhaps written your dissertation in the fields such as Object-orientated Application Architecture, optimal use of different Java tools, performance engineering, etc. You'll sometimes be working to tight deadlines, so you must be pro-active and not afraid of taking on responsibilities and making fast decisions. You work well both independently and with others, and can use your network to solve problems. You're familiar with agile disciplines/methods, and you're attracted by working in an agile environment. Training/certification in agile software development is an advantage.
As a candidate for the CSC Trainee Program, you're ambitious to become a leading expert with an exquisite talent in your area of expertise. You'll be working with colleagues from all over the world to create the IT solutions for tomorrow, so you must be a strongly innovative skilled communicator. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and aren't afraid of making fast decisions.
What's in it for you?
The 24-month program includes individual guidance and training to meet your needs and your aspirations for your future career.
Depending on your qualifications and strengths, you'll get the chance to work in 4-6 locations in one of the business units (Mainframe, ESM or Java Architects). During this time, you'll gain insights into the various areas within the business unit and create a valuable network within the large global organization that is CSC.
You'll take on a lot of responsibility, both within your own projects and in day-to-day operations.
Who are we looking for?
- You're more of a generalist than a specialist, able to work independently while keeping an overall perspective
- You remain cool under pressure, and are able to make the right priorities and adapt to the situation at hand
- You also know how to motivate, listen to and act on the knowledge in your team
- You're full of ideas and like to drive your projects forward
- You're fluent in English and/or one of the Scandinavian languages
You create – you analyze – you improve. Always fast on your feet.
