Why did you apply for a graduate position?
I find a graduate position very interesting as you get a unique chance to learn and develop as the company really wants to invest in your competences to become part of the company’s future. At least, that is the impression I get from CSC. Here, we have the opportunity to obtain a great amount of knowledge and experience to develop ourselves.
Why did you apply for a graduate position at CSC?
I heard about the program through a friend. He spoke highly of the program, but it was when I went to the Assessment Center we attended last year that I was sure that CSC was a great place for me to work. Additionally, I also did some research on CSC and discovered that CSC is a company that is moving forward in a positive direction. Finally, the global scale and size of the company also aspired to me, as this was one of my criteria.
What is CSC to you and how do you find it working at an IT company?
CSC to me is a company that is catching up the pace and will grow fast in the coming years. You really feel this, when you are inside the doors. Being part of the IT industry is quite inspiring. Things are moving so quickly and competition is fierce. That is something I want to be part of and this is where the challenge lies. Then there is the whole concept of disruptive technology in the market meaning that one small company can go in and completely change the whole industry, or at least some of the industry. So, I would sum it up and say that the dynamics of the IT industry are inspiring and also challenging to be part of.
What do you find surprising about working at CSC?
I think the answer is the organizational complexity. CSC is a large global company and therefore you see a lot of challenges in changing the culture and structure of how this big organization moves around and adapts to changes. This is something to learn or at least be aware of. On the other side, it is really giving to be part of this dynamic environment.
How do you find the working environment?
If I have to describe the working environment of CSC, I would say it is very goal-oriented and especially within sales. That is very natural of course, as we have targets we need to reach. This is the sort of environment I thrive in and maybe that is why I ended up here.
Why should others apply for a graduate position at CSC? What is your advice for future graduates at CSC?
I think others should apply because a graduate position is a unique way of getting to know the company. You are here to learn and you just need to take in as much knowledge as possible. This really helps in your understanding of the business and how everything is linked together.
Where do you see yourself following the Graduate Program?
I see myself bringing new business to CSC. I really enjoy finding the opportunities in the market and working on large scale deals. So hopefully in a role linked to the large deals that CSC is involved in and of course assisting in winning these!
What motivates you in your everyday work?
The dynamic IT industry environment is motivating to be part of because the IT landscape is moving so fast. It is truly an industry that is hard to understand and I find that quite motivating. There are so many things you can learn. Furthermore, the motivation also comes from working on something that hopefully leads to the next signed customer contract of course. I guess that is what sales is all about!
