Inspiration – when cultures meet
The close contact I have with many CSC colleagues in other countries is very interesting. For example, developing a close working relationship with my CSC colleagues in India has been both exciting and professionally stimulating. I think this international perspective makes being employed at CSC especially inspiring.
My career here started in 2005, when CSC was a business case in my dissertation on supply chain management. The dissertation included a model I developed for measuring performance and helping optimize offshore supply chains. CSC was interested in my model, and I joined the Strategic Consulting department at CSC full-time. My first task was to implement the conclusions reached in my dissertation.
I like continuously improving my skills, and CSC invests in project management courses and internal courses that help me become an even better employee.
I work closely with CSC’s Nordic Offshore Program Management Office, and my work includes mapping the implementation of offshore resources. I also estimate the consequences of buying resources in countries such as India instead of in Scandinavia. My job involves thinking ahead, being creative and thinking independently. This matches my nature, as I am innovative, pragmatic and enjoy seeing things develop. These qualities are rewarded at CSC. None of the new ideas I have presented have been rejected, which is very motivating and enhances self-confidence.
