CSC Opens Green Data Center in New York State

Facility also houses CSC’s Business Service Outsourcing Center (BSOC)

Ribbon-cutting at Renssalaer Data CenterSlicing a bright red ribbon with giant scissors, New York State CIO Melodie Mayberry-Stewart marked the official opening of CSC’s new data center near Albany. The ribbon-cutting ceremony kicked off at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, and was followed by an open house during which visitors toured the facility.

CSC cited its 26 years of support for the New York State Department of Health, and an ongoing commitment to the state, as reasons for locating the new data center complex in Rensselaer, just outside the state capital. Furthermore, the Green data center’s energy-efficient practices are in keeping with the area’s eco-sustainability efforts.

CSC’s Business Services Outsourcing Center (BSOC) shares the building with the data center. The BSOC offers shared services within a number of key functional areas including call center and mailing house capabilities.

Nearly 500 CSC employees currently work in the capitol region.
