How flexible is your IT system? Is it aligned with the way healthcare practitioners work? Is it a mixture of siloed systems that can provide a frustrating experience for patients?

In this paper (PDF 510KB) we share our point of view on the role SOA has to play in helping deliver a better patient experience. The paper briefly outlines the most important characteristics of the "services" concept and indicates the areas where this concept aligns with or differs from other approaches. The differences between a services architecture and communication server architectures are also clarified.
