CSC Receives ‘Best-Practice Partner’ Award for Knowledge Management from APQC
News Release -- September 21, 2011
Company's Holistic Approach, Social Business Collaboration and Communities Cited as Exemplars for Knowledge Management
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 21 – CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in providing technology-enabled business solutions and services, today announced that it has received a Best-Practice Partner Award from APQC for “Engagement and Participation for Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration.” The award was recently presented at the APQC Knowledge Transfer Session in Houston, Texas.
APQC, a nonprofit best practices and benchmarking organization, brings industry-leading firms together to share experiences and best practices and to explore new ideas. CSC was identified by APQC for excellence in knowledge management and invited to participate in the organization's 2011 best practices study entitled, "Engagement and Participation for Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration." Based on its responses, CSC was chosen as one of six companies selected as a Best-Practice Partner based on knowledge management strategy and infrastructure, practices, measurement, and impact.
The Knowledge Transfer Session and award presentation culminates months of information sharing among the six award winners, APQC, and various commercial and government organizations sponsoring the study.
"CSC's site visit was very informative," said Erin Williams, APQC project manager. "The organization recognizes the importance of collaboration and connecting its people with each other and its clients. Because of this, CSC puts a lot of effort into supporting its communities with appropriate development tools and making sure that its clients and practitioners are aware of the ways in which they can leverage CSC’s experiences and best practices."
"We are honored to have been recognized by APQC and invited to participate in this study," said R. Lemuel Lasher, chief innovation officer, CSC. "It is gratifying to have an independent organization of APQC's stature acknowledge our work in social collaboration and our holistic approach to knowledge management. This award underscores CSC's commitment and ability to execute on the innovation agenda in ways that directly impact business success."
