CSC and SELEX Galileo Renew Outsourcing Agreement
News Release -- February 14, 2011
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Feb. 14 – CSC (NYSE:CSC) announced today that it has signed a new IT outsourcing agreement with SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica company, and leader in the defense electronics markets and CSC customer since 2000. The total estimated value of the agreement is approximately $200M.
Under the five-year agreement, CSC will continue to manage a full range of IT services for SELEX Galileo, including mid-range computers, servers and desktops, to local and wide area networks, internet and intranet services, service desk, applications development and support, and IT procurement services.
Tony Ham, vice president, ICT for SELEX Galileo’s U.K. and Italy businesses, said: “This new agreement builds on our existing excellent business relationship with CSC. The benefits that CSC can bring are evident for our business as IT grows in importance — not only as we look to manage our costs, but as a key enabler in maximizing operational performance and facilitating the rapid development of our services and products to market.”
Andy Williams, president of CSC’s Northern European business operations, commented: “We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing relationship with SELEX Galileo. With the current volatility and challenges they face in the defense sector, we can help them, and the wider Finmeccanica group, by bringing to bear our global aerospace and defense experience, to provide the capability and expertise required to support their mission critical systems and evolving business agenda.”
