David W. Zolet Joins CSC as President, North American Public Sector Business Development

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug. 3 -- CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced that David W. Zolet has joined the company as president of business development for its North American Public Sector (NPS) business unit. Reporting to NPS President James W. Sheaffer, Zolet is leading efforts to capture North American federal, state and local government business for CSC. He replaces Mike Gaffney, who is now president of the NPS Civil and Health Services Group.
“Dave brings us an exceptionally strong record of achievement in both new business development and operational management to help us continue growing our government business and reaching our ambitious goals,” said Sheaffer. “He is a proven leader with a solid record of building and directing successful teams, and we are fortunate to have him join our executive staff in this key role.”
Zolet is a senior executive with more than 20 years of corporate experience in general management, business development, engineering, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and customer and government relations. He has a history of delivering strong financial results in new start-ups, turnarounds and high-growth business.
Zolet comes to CSC from IBM, where he was vice president, systems integration. Previously, he spent more than 20 years with Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he progressed through a number of executive positions in business development, program management, and corporate functions such as government relations and strategic planning.
While vice president of Northrop Grumman’s corporate business development organization, he was responsible for establishing and subsequently operating the newly created function with responsibilities for market planning and shaping, as well as opportunity management activities related to enterprise-wide goals. He previously served as vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman IT’s Enterprise Infrastructure Business; president of its Commercial, State and Local Group; president, Defense and vice president of Homeland Security.
Zolet has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering Science from The Johns Hopkins University.
