News Release -- March 30, 2010
FALLS CHURCH, Va., March 30 -- CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has been rated as “Strong Positive” in the Gartner report, MarketScope for Data Center Outsourcing, North America.1 The report reviewed 19 vendors, each with more than $50 million in annual revenue for data center services.
According to Gartner, “While data center outsourcing remains one of the most mature outsourcing service areas, some changes continue to emerge that include delivery variations and alternative/nontraditional delivery models, such as remote management services, infrastructure utilities and cloud offerings.” In addition, Gartner notes that “data center outsourcing services are mature, but they continue to evolve in terms of competencies and needed skill sets as a result of new technology developments.”
“We have a heritage in high quality, cost effective data center outsourcing, and innovation in service delivery capabilities, which we feel is reflected in Gartner’s MarketScope report,” said John Ryan, vice president and global portfolio executive for CSC’s Managed Services Sector (MSS). “I believe our ‘Strong Positive’ rating reflects our clients’ confidence in our data center management and consolidation capabilities, global remote management services, and our continuous modernization of skills and practices that enable their business success. We believe CSC’s broad array of virtualization offerings such as Dynamic Desktop, Dynamic Server and Dynamic Storage are built upon the foundation of excellence in service delivery in our data centers, enabling clients to receive real value today while we help them take advantage of cloud capabilities now and into the future.”
