CSC DELIVERS PRODUCT CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE TO THREE OF TOP 20 U.S. LIFE AND ANNUITY INSURERS

CSC’s Product Accelerator Speeds Insurance Product Innovation

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 13 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced the initial release of Product Accelerator, CSC’s advanced configuration software for rapid life insurance and annuity product introduction. The software has been delivered to three of the top 20 U.S. life and annuity insurers, who participated in the product’s Early Adopter program, and is now available for general delivery to all licensees.

Product Accelerator gives business experts, rather than software programmers, control of product introduction. Unlike other product configuration software, Product Accelerator includes a comprehensive library of insurance products that enables carriers to reduce the time needed to launch new products from months to days. In addition, the software includes common life insurance and annuity product line templates and content publishing capability.

During development, CSC reviewed the early adopters’ processes and incorporated automation and other changes to streamline product introduction. The early adopters will continue their involvement in future Product Accelerator releases by participating in regular collaborative meetings that help to prioritize future functionality and by beta testing the software.

“Working with three leading insurers as early adopters helped CSC strengthen Product Accelerator by drawing upon our clients’ industry and practical experience,” said Michael W. Risley, president of the Life and Annuity division of CSC’s Financial Services Sector. “Product Accelerator will help insurers speed new products to market, enhancing their ability to stay competitive and profitable.”
