News Release -- August 21, 2006
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 21 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that OneSteel Ltd. (ASX: OST) has extended its information technology (IT) services contract with CSC. The new three-year contract, which has options for another two years, has a total value of $37 million (AUD$50 million) if all options are exercised.CSC has been supporting OneSteel since 2001, when it was established as a separate entity from the then Broken Hill Propriety (BHP), now BHP Billiton, following the merger of BHP and Billiton. Under the new contract, CSC will continue to provide a wide range of IT-related services, including support and enhancement of a significant portion of OneSteel's critical production systems, which operate across manufacturing facilities in Newcastle, Sydney, and in Whyalla, South Australia.
