CSC WINS ARMY STRATEGIC SERVICES SOURCING CONTRACT TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING, LOGISTICS AND BUSINESS OPERATIONS SUPPORT
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 20 - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it is one of seven firms that have been awarded Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contracts to provide a comprehensive range of engineering, logistics and business operations services to the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command (C-E LCMC), headquartered in Fort Monmouth, N.J. The total ceiling value of the contract for all seven firms is $19.25 billion.
CSC estimates the value of its portion of the award, which has a five-year base period and one five-year option, to be approximately $1.5 billion if the option is exercised.
Under the S3 contract, CSC will provide the Army’s command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) community with expertise across a broad range of life-cycle services to meet rapidly changing and often unpredictable mission requirements. Services CSC will provide include systems engineering; research and development; software development, sustainment and support; program management and analysis; business functions; supply chain management; logistics; technical field assistance; test and evaluation; modeling and simulation; information operations/assurance support; facilities management; and administrative services in conjunction with new and existing systems, families of systems, platforms and C-E LCMC commodity items.
“For 16 years, CSC has been a trusted solutions provider to the Army’s Communications-Electronics Command, providing critical support on programs such as CECOM Rapid Response and the Logistics Modernization Program,” said Jim Sheaffer, president of CSC’s Federal Sector. “This award illustrates the Army’s continued confidence in CSC’s experience and legacy of delivering measurable results to the C4ISR community.”
Teaming with CSC are companies with established track records of providing services and expertise to the C-E LCMC, including ManTech, of Fairfax, Va.; DRS Technologies, of Parsippany, N.J.; and PricewaterhouseCoopers, of New York, N.Y.
The Army's C-E LCMC mission is to develop, field, sustain and support superior C4ISR systems for the Joint Warfighter in the sustaining base, tactical and strategic battlespace.
