CELENT RECOGNIZES CSC’S LEADERSHIP IN INSURANCE SOFTWARE
News Release -- June 01, 2005
Studies on Life and P&C Insurance Software Deal Trends Highlight CSC for Second Consecutive YearEL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 1 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that annual studies conducted by global financial services information technology (IT) research and consulting firm Celent identify CSC as a dominant provider of insurance software.
For the second year in a row, Celent’s Insurance Software Deal Trends studies cited CSC as a leading provider for both property and casualty (P&C) and life/health software based on number of contracts signed. For both P&C and life/health insurance, CSC led the “full policy administration systems” category and was among the top three leaders in the “focused claims solutions” category. In addition, CSC was one of the top three leaders in the “P&C insurance underwriting systems” and “life/health insurance business process management/business rules engines” categories.
“Celent’s most recent analysis has once again confirmed CSC’s leadership within the insurance sector,” said Jim Cook, president of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “By applying our extensive industry knowledge, experience, and research and development, we are able to continually bring products to market that help CSC clients achieve their desired business results.”
Celent’s Insurance Software Deal Trends reports for the P&C and life/health markets synthesize both vendor-provided and publicly available information about insurance-specific application and infrastructure software sold to North American insurers during 2003 and 2004. Celent examined data on 475 life/health insurance software contracts and 499 P&C insurance software contracts involving 107 software vendors.
