CSC WINS $16 MILLION CONTRACT TO SUPPORT TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 22 - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has won a contract to provide adjudication support services to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA). CSC estimates the value of the contract, which has one base year and three one-year options, to be approximately $16 million if all options are exercised.
Under the contract, CSC will support the TSA’s Office of Transportation Vetting and Credentialing (OTVC). OTVC is responsible for conducting security threat assessments for all commercial truck drivers pursuing a hazardous materials commercial driver’s license. CSC will provide personnel to assist TSA officials in processing the necessary documentation related to individual applications under this statute.
“We are proud to support the TSA in securing the nation’s transportation systems from potential threats,” said Paul Cofoni, president of CSC’s Federal Sector business unit. “For years, CSC has been providing the U.S. federal government with a full spectrum of security services. This award emphasizes our extensive experience and ability to deliver results that protect critical infrastructure.”
CSC and subcontractor Trinity Technology Group Inc., of Fairfax, Va., will provide approximately 40 security adjudication professionals to provide support services, primarily in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
The TSA is responsible for protecting the nation’s transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement of people and commerce.
