CSC WINS $57 MILLION ARMY NATIONAL GUARD DISTANCE LEARNING TASK ORDER
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 1 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has been awarded a task order under the General Services Administration (GSA) ANSWER governmentwide acquisition contract to provide distance learning training, services and support to the Army National Guard. CSC estimates the value of the five-year task to be $57 million. The task was awarded through the GSA's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM).
Under the agreement, CSC will design, develop, convert and upgrade interactive multimedia distance learning tools for the National Guard and other government agencies. Work will be performed at the Army National Guard's Military Interactive Multimedia Instruction Center (MIMIC) at Ft. Dodge, Iowa. MIMIC, an integral part of the National Guard's distance learning program, develops training and educational products that enhance training for required skills and knowledge.

CSC's team includes UNITECH of Centreville, Va. The team brings CSC's industry-leading UTOPIA2000 Web-based authoring environment, an ISO 9001-certified methodology and previous experience working at MIMIC to the effort. Additionally, CSC's Training Center of Excellence in Hampton, Va., will support and manage the work. The center is an ISO 9001-certified custom training product development organization specializing in the design and development of knowledge support system solutions and innovative training products.
