CSC ONE OF 10 COMPANIES SELECTED FOR $25 BILLION GSA ANSWER CONTRACT
Falls Church, Va., Jan. 5 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) has been selected one of 10 companies to provide information technology services and support under the Federal Technology Service, Federal Information Systems Support program of the General Services Administration (GSA).
The multiple award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity Applications `n Support for Widely-diverse EndUser Requirements (ANSWER) contract contains a two-year base period of performance and eight one-year options and has a not-to-exceed contract value of $25 billion. CSC estimates it will generate $250 million in revenues over the 10 year contract period.
The ANSWER contract is designed to support information technology requirements nationwide. It will be managed by the Solutions Development center of GSA Region Nine and will be available for use by all federal government agencies worldwide.
CSC will provide a wide spectrum of information support services, including system requirements, design, development, installation, integration, management and operation of local, metropolitan and wide area networks. In addition, the company will provide analysis and definition, software maintenance and support, facilities planning, technical and specialized workstation support, equipment maintenance, data base generation, data and/or media management, orientation and training, and information center/help desk support.

Systems engineers, analysts, planners and related information technology professionals assigned to CSC's Civil Group, headquartered in Falls Church, Va., will perform the contract.
Applied Technology Associates, Inc., of Palo Alto, Calif., heads a subcontracting team which includes five Virginia firms: Arrowhead Space & Telecommunications, Inc., Falls Church; CEXEC, Inc., Vienna; Gray Hawk Systems, Inc., Alexandria; Solutions By Design, Inc., Vienna; and Strategic Business Solutions, Inc., Alexandria. Additional subcontractors include Gutierrez-Palmenberg, Inc., Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Client Network Services, Inc., Gaithersburg, Md.; APR Consulting, Inc., Tustin, Calif.; and SoftSol Resources, Inc., Fremont, Calif.
GSA provides managed space, supplies, services, and best value solutions to enable federal employees to accomplish their missions. GSA's Federal Technology Service, Federal Information Systems Support program, develops, competes, awards and administers a variety of information technology services contracts for use by federal government agencies.
Other companies selected for ANSWER contracts include Anteon Corp., Booz- Allen Hamilton Inc., DynCorp, EER Systems Inc., I.T.S. Corp., ISS, Litton/PRC Inc., Logicon Inc., and Science Applications International Corporation.
