BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF NORTH CAROLINA LICENSES CSC'S POWER (MHS) SYSTEM
El Segundo, Calif., April 28 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that it has licensed its POWERMHS Managed Healthcare Information System to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina* (BCBSNC).
Under the terms of the contract, CSC's Healthcare Group will implement the POWERMHS system to cover more than 800,000 of the organization's members and will convert data from existing BCBSNC legacy systems. Conversion of the organization's existing business is slated to begin in the year 2000. A broad team of CSC experts and more than 100 BCBSNC employees has been dedicated to this ambitious project.

"This new technology will help us offer those improvements and significantly improve our customer service."
In addition to implementation and data conversion, CSC will assist BCBSNC in developing interfaces to the national Blue Cross and Blue Shield system, additional BCBSNC legacy systems and the organization's key vendors.
