CSC Names Rob Carey Vice President and General Manager Public Sector Cybersecurity

FALLS CHURCH, Va, April 28, 2014--CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, today named Rob Carey vice president and general manager of CSC Public Sector Cybersecurity.
Carey will lead CSC’s public sector cybersecurity business, reporting to Samuel Visner, vice president and general manager, and head of CSC global Cybersecurity.
Carey joins CSC following a 31-year career in the U.S. Federal Government, the last 15 years in IT and cybersecurity. He most recently served as the Department of Defense (DOD) principal deputy chief information officer helping lead the consolidation and standardization of the DOD information technology enterprise while strengthening its cybersecurity posture and enterprise architecture. From 2006 to 2010, he served as the fifth Department of the Navy (DON) chief information officer where he championed transformation, enterprise services, and information security. Carey joined the DON in 2003 and began his federal service with the U.S. Army at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1982.

Carey recently retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve after serving 25 years with the rank of captain in the Civil Engineer Corps. He was recalled to active duty for Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served in the I Marine Expeditionary Force in 2006 - 2007.
