EL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 5 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that Tom Anderson has been named president of its recently consolidated North American Public Sector business unit’s Civil Division. Reporting to James W. Sheaffer, president of the North American Public Sector (formerly Federal Sector) business unit, Anderson will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for much of the company’s business with civil agencies of the U.S. federal government.
Previously, CSC’s civil agency business was managed by two different groups within the company. The Civil Division’s consolidation improves the company’s ability to prioritize investment decisions, align resources and leverage experience and capabilities across agencies. The division, which has approximately 4,000 employees, will focus on being a partner of choice by bringing differentiated, innovative solutions to address the mission, information technology (IT) and outsourcing needs of the federal government’s civil agencies.
Before joining CSC, Anderson was a vice president at Raytheon Information Solutions, where he helped establish a framework to coordinate the company’s disparate federal government IT offerings. Prior to his tenure at Raytheon, Anderson oversaw strategic programs for Northrop Grumman Information Technology and held key leadership positions with Federal Data Corporation and Boeing Computer Services.
"The new Civil Division improves our ability to leverage experience and capabilities across government agencies," said Sheaffer. "I have great confidence in Tom's leadership and know he will continue to drive growth forward for the organization while delivering the results our clients expect."
Anderson holds a master’s degree in technology management from George Mason University and a CIO certification from the Federal CIO Council.
He is on the board of directors of the Information Technology Association of America, a member of Potomac Officer’s Club and a member of the Industry Advisory Council.
