DR. ROBERT M. WAH NAMED VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER OF CSC’S FEDERAL SECTOR

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Jan. 17 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that Dr. Robert M. Wah has been named vice president and chief medical officer of its Federal Sector business unit.

Dr. Wah will report to Raymond E. Henry, president of the Federal Sector Civil Systems Development division, and will be responsible for leading and growing CSC’s federal health information technology (IT) business. He will focus on federal and state government agencies responsible for health information, and will work with CSC’s commercial and international business units that also serve the healthcare sector.

Dr. Wah most recently served as acting deputy national coordinator for Health Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, advancing President Bush’s executive order to have electronic medical records for the majority of Americans by 2014. Prior to this he worked for the Military Health System in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. During his tenure, he was the associate chief information officer, focusing on health IT, and director of information management, with responsibility for developing requirements for health IT tools. In addition, he served 23 years in the Navy Medical Corps, most recently at the rank of captain.

“Agencies responsible for federal healthcare systems are increasingly turning to information technology to improve patient care, eliminate inefficiencies and drive down costs,” said James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC’s Federal Sector business unit. “Dr. Wah’s experience will prove invaluable as CSC leverages its demonstrated leadership in healthcare services to deliver sound results that help federal and state agencies achieve their objectives.”

Dr. Wah is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association and has served as a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, the Uniformed Services University F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, and the University of California, San Diego.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Oregon and received an M.D. from the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine. He holds two board certifications, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass.
