News Release -- June 5, 2003

CSC RECOGNIZED BY ACORD STANDARDS ORGANIZATION - 2003

CSC Receives Five ACORD Awards for Use of Standards-based Technology

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 5, 2003 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been recognized for its use of standards-based technology to improve bottom-line business value for its clients by the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD). On May 20, at the ACORD Annual Conference 2003 in Orlando, Fla., CSC was honored with five awards including a Business Integration award, an Early Adopter award for Life, an Outsourcer award, a Life and Annuities XML Certification award, and a Property and Casualty XML Certification award.

CSC has been a member of ACORD for more than 20 years, helping to define and apply standards that streamline the exchange of information that occurs during insurance transactions. By using XML-based ACORD standards, CSC’s insurance software enables automated processing of transactions from beginning to end across multiple organizations and technologies. This automation, called “straight-through” processing, helps all parties involved with the transactions reduce costs and increase accuracy.

“The breadth of awards CSC has won shows that we share a common vision of straight-through processing for the insurance industry,” said Rick Heil, ACORD's Life Program Manager. “CSC continues to demonstrate leadership in making the long-term investment required for ACORD standards adoption. We congratulate them on their insight and success.”

“This is CSC’s fourth consecutive year to be honored by ACORD for our successful application of industry-based standards,” said Jim Cook, president of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “We have taken a leadership role in promoting XML standards for the insurance industry. Through their use, we can continue to improve the efficiency and accuracy of communication between our clients and their trading partners.”
