EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 21 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Oxford Health Plans, Inc. (Nasdaq: OXHP) to provide information technology (IT) outsourcing services over a five-year period. Oxford is a leading managed healthcare company providing health benefit plans to 1.45 million members in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Under the contract, CSC will assume certain operational responsibility for Oxford’s IT services, including the company’s data center operations for mid-range computing, enterprise-wide desktop support, 24x7 help desk support and network management, including support of Oxford’s Internet servers.
Operations for these services, including Oxford’s data center at the firm’s headquarters in Trumbull, Conn., will be transitioned to CSC facilities in Norwich, Conn., effective December 1 with plans to complete this process within the next year. As part of the agreement, 150 Oxford IT professionals will join CSC as full time employees on December 1.
