EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 19 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that Thomas T. Reinhardt has been named vice president and customer relationship executive for its North American Public Sector’s (NPS) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) business area.
In this newly created position, Reinhardt will be responsible for managing overall client satisfaction among CSC’s DHS customers. This will involve ensuring that the DHS has access to the innovations, service offerings and best practices developed through both CSC’s commercial and public sector work throughout the world. Reinhardt will report to Mike Gaffney, president of Business Development for CSC’s NPS business unit.
“With his deep expertise in security, proven track record and broad background with the Department of Homeland Security, Tom will help CSC maximize its business relationship with the Department,” said James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC’s NPS business unit. “Customer relationship executives play an important role in Project Accelerate, CSC’s strategic growth plan, and we are pleased that Tom will head our efforts in support of the DHS’s mission to lead the unified national effort to secure America.”
Reinhardt joined CSC in 2005 and most recently served as the American Red Cross account manager. Prior to joining the company, he served as the first Chief of Staff for the DHS Office of the Under Secretary for Management. His extensive government background also includes serving on President Ronald Reagan’s White House staff – first in the Office of Management and Budget, then as the Executive Secretary of the Presidential Commission on the Space Shuttle Challenger Accident – and finally, on the National Security Council staff.
During the George H.W. Bush administration, he was appointed Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Director of Congressional Relations for the Department of Justice and subsequently served as the Associate Deputy Attorney General and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Attorney General.
Reinhardt holds a bachelor’s degree in general engineering from the United States Military Academy and a master’s of science in business administration from Boston University.
