CSC Signs Global Outsourcing Agreement With Basell Valued at Approximately US$320 Million
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.,Feb 26,2003 — Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that it has signed an eight-year information technology (IT) outsourcing agreement with Basell valued at approximately $320 million. Basell is the world's largest producer of polypropylene and a leading supplier of polyethylene and advanced polyolefin products, which are used in a wide range of consumer and industrial goods including food and drink packaging, car parts, toys and underground piping.
Under the agreement, CSC will assume responsibility for Basell's global IT infrastructure, including data center and help desk operations, networks and desktop computers. CSC will implement a global standard operating environment to help Basell improve efficiency and focus on changing market and client needs.
