Allotment of rights issue of 16,238,000 on the basis of two new shares for every five existing shares at an issue price of RM2.5 per share
Transfer of the listing and quotation of the entire issued and paid-up shares from the Second Board to the Main Board of the KLSE
Reclassification from the "Trading Services" Sector to the "Technology" Sector
AIA - Trust in Us FforIT
American International Assurance (AIA) sealed a deal with CSC Malaysia and seven other IT vendors that will ensure AIA becomes a technologically savvy life insurance organisation in the near future. Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Leo Moggie, the then Minister of Energy, Communications and Multimedia witnessed the contract signing.
E-Government e-Services
On July 18th 2001 this year, CSC Malaysia played a part in bringing Malaysia into the new millennium with the rolling out of Phase 1 of the Electronic Government e-Services (EG-eS) project, which will allow the public to perform various transactions via the Internet. The three service providers involved are mySpeed.com Sdn Bhd, myEG dot com Sdn Bhd, and Konsortium Multimedia Swasta (M) Sdn Bhd (KOMMS).
Taking the First Step to Cross the Internet Chasm
More than 70 top-level executives took the first step to cross the Internet Chasm, held over breakfast at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel. This CxO event was proudly brought to our valued customers by CSC in partnership with Sun Microsystems and iPlanet. The renowned CSC pioneer in e-Commerce, Mr Robert Nowicki, Senior Partner, Consulting, CSC shared his knowledge on how to bridge existing investments with Net Business Relationships. Mr Douglas Brown, Director, Consultancy, CSC Asia and Mr Robert Herb from Sun Microsystems Inc. USA kept the audience enthralled with Case Studies and Sun's Approach to Net Business.
CSC Malaysia Appointed Oracle Approved Education Centre
CSC Malaysia's position as an end-to-end IT services provider was given a further boost on October 9th 2001, when Oracle Corporation Malaysia appointed CSC Malaysia as an Oracle Approved Education Centre. This appointment allows CSC Malaysia to focus on IT training for the high-end technology market, especially in databases and UNIX courses. CSC's Training Centre, located in Amcorp Tower, is a leader in the provision of training services to major corporations for over 15 years.The centre is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including multimedia workstations and advanced visual aids and can accommodate up to 116 students at any one time.
The Launch of the Season - Multi-Application Smart Terminals for MyKad
CSC Malaysia played a vital role in the development of the K-Economy in Malaysia when it orchestrated the launch of the Multi-Application Smart Terminals (Smart Terminals) in collaboration with IRIS Corporation. Datuk Amar Leo Moggie, the then Minister of Energy, Communications and Multimedia graced the occasion.
Alliance Bank Signing
Alliance Bank formed a strategic partnership with OpenSys (M) Sdn Bhd and CSC Malaysia to develop and service an innovative and fully secure self-service cheque deposit machine which allows cheques to be cleared faster, without the cumbersome need to fill in bank-in slips and envelopes.
CSC Training Center Launch
CSC Training Center in Petaling Jaya relocated to bigger premises at Amcorp Mall, Level 6 in June 2001. Our training centres at Petaling Jaya, Penang and Kota Kinabalu are equipped with state-of-the-art IT equipment and advance visual aids. CSC Training Centre is registered with the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC). Currently, most of our courses are Approved Training Programmes under the PROLUS and PERLA schemes by the HRDC.
CSC Malaysia and Intel bring 'Webstock on Intel' to market
On 15th May, CSC Malaysia and Intel signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining programme commitments and an overall agreement to work together to deploy Intel-based architecture, applications and solutions for an end-to-end solution delivery.
CSC Malaysia (formerly known as CSA (M) Sdn Bhd) Moved from 2nd Board to the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange - 28th December 2001
On 28th December 2001, CSC Malaysia (inducted as CSA (M) Sdn Bhd) joined the ranks of Malaysia's top corporate elite, when we successfully moved from the Second Board to the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). Two days later, CSC was re-classified from Trading & Services Sector to Technology Sector. The re-classification was a bitter-sweet moment for us as CSC has worked hard to be recognised as a 'Technology' company. Bitter - perhaps, because it took so long and sweet, because it is an important recognition of our true value in the IT world.
KLSE Corporate Awards 2001
CSC Malaysia won the prestigious KLSE Corporate Awards 2001 (Best Overall and Sectoral for 2nd Board Companies) which was presented during the awards ceremony held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 5th March 2001. The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) launched the inaugural KLSE Corporate Awards in order to encourage corporate excellence amongst its public listed companies.
The Award recognises companies listed on both the Main Board and the Second Board of the KLSE, which have shown exemplary corporate conduct in complying with the KLSE's listing requirements, as well as companies which have demonstrated high standards of corporate governance, disclosure and transparency.
