It all started with a dream and 100 dollars
CSC was founded in 1959 by programmer Roy Nutt and marketing expert Fletcher Jones. They invested 100 dollars in the new company. The formula was a success, and just two years later the company signed its first contract with NASA, earning a place in the space programme. Right from the start, CSC provided technical services ranging from weather observation to radar maintenance for all NASA’s manned and unmanned spacecraft. In 1990 and again in 1995, we even had our own CSC astronaut serve as a cargo specialist onboard the space shuttle.
Today, CSC is a world-leading IT company employing some 87,000 people in more than 80 countries. In an evolving IT services market the only thing certain is change. Yet, during CSC's nearly 50-year history, one constant has remained: CSC's focus on using technology to develop the most innovative and practical solutions that deliver results.
