First Bank Inc. Improves Project Delivery Capabilities Through the Implementation of CSC’s M5 Offering

First Bank had experienced significant growth in recent years through acquisition, resulting in an increased workload within the organization. Though they had implemented a small PMO organization and basic project management methodologies, they continued to experience delays in IT project starts, budget and schedule overruns, inefficient resource utilization, and a lack of visibility into project status and issues. There was little filtering in processing new requests, resulting in a backlog that was unachievable.

Solution

We were initially hired to conduct an assessment of First Bank’s project delivery capabilities. Using our M⁵ Maturity Model, First Bank’s capabilities were assessed across multiple areas including: Strategy, Process, Organization and Tools. We were then hired to assist in the implementation of many of the recommendations and to work with First Bank’s PMO Team to improve the organization’s existing project management processes.

Results

Through the implementation of our M⁵ Offering, First Bank has already seen an improvement in their project delivery capabilities. The success of this engagement can be attributed to many factors including:
