Eighth Annual Global Survey of Supply Chain Progress
Webinar Replay from Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Globalization trends and a changing economy demand new strategies from companies that want to compete effectively in the marketplace, and CSC's 2010 Global Survey of Supply Chain Progress has tapped in to some of these trends and strategies. Insights from this year's survey show that companies have turned to their supply chain and supply chain management (SCM) for help. Attracting over 160 respondents from every geographical segment in the world with concentrations mostly from North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, this year's survey respondents represent both large and midsize companies with sales in range from $250 million to billions in annual revenue (USD).
Of primary interest, the 2010 survey sought to elicit specific responses around the global economic downturn and the gains and losses impacting supply chain management organizations. Questions were also pinpointed to determine supply chain activities: centralization — the degree to which a company’s supply chain activities are directed by a single SCM organization; global control — the number of regional activities coordinated globally; and functional span — the number of supply chain activities controlled by a Supply Chain office.
