CSC Launches Unique Telepresence as a Service Fully Managed Video Conferencing Solution
News Release -- March 29, 2011
CSC Also Achieves TelePresence Authorized Technology Provider Status from Cisco in Three Regions
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – March 29 – CSC (NYSE: CSC) unveiled today its TelePresence as a Service (TaaS) offering, an end-to-end managed video conferencing solution based on the Cisco TelePresence product suite. Targeted at businesses with executives who are challenged with face-to-face meetings and limited time, the solution’s powerful monitoring/management tools assure that TelePresence end points, network and infrastructure networks are always ready for high-definition video conferencing. Unlike the solutions of other system integrators and telecommunications providers, CSC’s TaaS provides unique TelePresence packages at fixed monthly costs, and has the capability to integrate disparate technology platforms into one, simplified user interface.
CSC also announced that it has achieved TelePresence Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status from Cisco in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. The certification validates TaaS, the newest addition to CSC’s comprehensive suite of Unified Communications and Collaboration services, as proven and ready for government and commercial organizations to deploy today.
“TelePresence as a Service is unique due to CSC’s capability to integrate the technologies and communications services that currently exist within the client’s enterprise,” said Nimesh Shah, global portfolio executive, Managed Network Services, CSC. “We are enabling businesses to eliminate costly business travel with a more cost-effective, time-saving video solution that can be used on-demand. Cisco's ATP certification – which CSC was able to acquire in less than 90 days – combined with CSC’s extensive portfolio of Unified Communications and Collaboration services, demonstrates our ability to rapidly identify and implement leading edge technologies like Cisco’s TelePresence within the enterprise.”
“Cisco TelePresence changes the entire realm of communications and collaboration,” said Richard McLeod, senior director of collaboration solutions for worldwide channels at Cisco. “CSC's investment in the TelePresence ATP ranks them among an elite group of partners qualified to deploy Cisco TelePresence in multiple regions.”
CSC TaaS provides a comprehensive collaboration solution that combines its professional and managed services capabilities; the reach, intelligence and reliability of CSC network offerings; and the simplicity and innovation of Cisco’s TelePresence technology. The solution offers video and audio in a truly immersive environment, allowing users to meet productively with geographically dispersed colleagues.
