Bill Monitoring
Legal bills are sent directly to CSC from your law firms. Attorneys with experience in your line of business manage all bills reviewed. Using Legal Solutions Suite, our state-of-the-art proprietary software, we determine whether the bill is fair, reasonable and accurate.
We can identify patterns of excessive expenditures and pinpoint discrepancies. For example, we can spot if overhead items were treated as billable expenses, or if administrative functions were billed at attorney rates.
We also check that:
- Law firm personnel who performed the tasks were the right people to do the job
- Law firm staffing is efficient for the type of legal matter assigned
- Billing guidelines were followed
Bill Resolution
We work with law firms to resolve billing issues before a payment amount is recommended. If reviews indicate you've been charged more than you should pay, we'll negotiate on your behalf, and where there is uncertainty whether a billing item is appropriate under your guidelines, we will contact the firm to seek clarification.
Reporting
Comprehensive Web-based management reports are provided with respect to law firm compliance, average costs of tasks and activities, and average hourly rates.
