Russ Owen
Americas Commercial Group
President
Mr. Owen is group president of CSC's Americas Commercial Group with
responsibilities for the corporation's commercial business in the Americas. He also has
responsibility for the planning and establishment of the global industry verticals and
is the lead executive for the integration of Covansys and CSC.
Previously, Mr. Owen was group president and managing director of the
BAE Systems Global account within CSC's European Group. In this capacity, he had executive
responsibility for the successful renewal of CSC's contract and overall responsibility for
the BAE Systems Global account. Prior to that, Mr. Owen was president of CSC's Global
Infrastructure Services Group. This organization is responsible for the global technology
infrastructure which supports CSC's outsourcing client base and CSC's internal operations.
Mr. Owen also held positions as president of the Chemical Group and account executive for
the DuPont account. Additionally, he served as vice president and account executive for
CAN Insurance and vice president and account executive for Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft
Systems where he was responsible for full information technology (IT) outsourcing for these
clients. Prior to this, he was vice president of operations for the United Kingdom division
of CSC and vice president and director of the British Aerospace account.
Mr. Owen played a key role in winning the British Aerospace outsourcing
contract and establishing CSC's outsourcing capability in Europe. His prior assignment
was director of computer services at Technology Management Group's Western center,
providing IT services to the General Dynamics, Hughes Missile Systems and Sun Microsystems
outsourcing contracts.
Before joining CSC in 1992, Mr. Owen was an engineering director with General Dynamics
and held positions of increasing responsibility in CAD/CAM management with the data systems division and the
electronics division of General Dynamics. He earned BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from Michigan
State University, in Lansing, Michigan.
